freshwater fishing gear & tips

hi everyone, i am starting to take up freshwater fishing. for the past few years i have been a boat angler. i need to get some gear but i wont to know where the best place is where i can get it cheep.

(i live in andover)

if anyone has any gear they do not wont i will buy it for a cheep price or for free if you just wont to get rid of it.( i am not begging for it)

also can i have som tips on the best way to chach fish at charlton lakes and anton lakes in andover as i live near there and i will fishing there.
