Re: I Need Some Help On Floats AndBaits Please

Wolfie, I recommend reading this series of articles : Beginners Essentials by Mark Wintle & Graham Marsden (both 1st class anglers)

I would also recommend you read a book like this --> http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndS...ng-759992.html which for less than a fiver will give you the information you need if you are interested in starting again.

There are so many different things to learn about: fish and their different habitats, handling and weighing of fish, baits, rods, reels, landing nets, hooks, floats, shotting patterns, fishing licence types etc. so to start it is best either to go with someone who already fishes a lot and/or buy a book like the one above.

We can then advise you further on specific things; but you really need to know some of the basics first. otherwise some of the things we tell you may not mean anything to you.

Good luck with your fishing, we all started somewhere and a lot of us had the advantage of a family member to take us fishing and teach us the basics.
BB

NB. Beware of the book "How to Fish" by Chris Yates as it is not a 'how to fish' type of book but is a book of fishing experiences by one of our best loved anglers.

hi wolfie, splitshots and basically little bits of lead which u squish onto the line wiht ur teeth or pliers, for bait since u want to catch chub but u want a chance to catch the smaller fish maggots are probably the best thing u can use but worms also work nut the best thing to do for advice on wat baits to use is ask in your local tackle shop or just local fishermen
