pantera, are one of the dragon carp team, i would personally avoid, but its your choice. The problem i found with their kit, it doesn't last rings and reel seats start to go after a while.Like Paul said stick known brands, For the same price, leeda do a good choice. See Link

Thanks for the advice guys, i had a ride to Chapman's today, they have so much tackle it was to much for some body who's been out of the game for so long my head was spinning just to much choice, anyway i got a Browning rod and real deal, new nets, and luggage set

brownings ok mate,if you can, its best to take an experienced angler with you to tackle shops when your out to buy rods and reels

On the subject of cheaper rods, I found that the reel seats were a nightmare in the cold, very hard to fix reel in properly.
The other factor is weight, after a few hours trotting, you really realise how nice it is to have a light rod in your hand.
