Re: Thieving SCUM

R.E Plods psot, which is very good. Two books to be read, which are real eye openers
1 'Diary of an on call girl' by WPC Bloggs
2 'Wasting Police time' by PC David Copperfield.

Re: Thieving SCUM

Not harp on about this subject to much, but three years ago i was attacked in my local Tesco express by 13 year old kid, needless to say he came off worse. but the reason he attacked me was because i told him it was unacceptable to ride his push bike in the shop and he didn't like being told no. I think the kids today need to be taught right from wrong, and i believe that cpl punnishment should be brought back and the parents should have to agree to this at schools, and if the kid refuses to be smacked then should be expeled from the school and then sent to a form of work house, were they have to contribute to society , either they learn or they pay to live in our society. sound a bit harsh, but wants happening now is not working, things have to change.

Re: Thieving SCUM

when i was young we feared and respected our teachers and police, that respect has been replaced by contempt and hatred,
don't you think it has been brought about by all this human rights rubbish,if a teacher clouts a mouthy pupil they end up with the sack, i got the slipper every week and it didnt do me any harm,

sorry rant over,i will go back to sitting on the fence

Re: Thieving SCUM

Yep, definately agree with you there Paul. I joined the old bill in 1989, and the job then was bloody great. I know there are probably more people here that hate her than like her, but at least under Thatcher the police had some teeth. I'm not going to get into the politics of it all, but my job has changed beyond all recognition under Labour. Whether it would have happened anyway is a question no one can answer, but I don't think we would have rolled over so easily and given up the power to control our country.

The two things that have totally destroyed my job is the Health and Safety Act, and Human Rights Act. Funny that the Prime minister who signed us up to the HRA was married to a top Human rights lawyer???

H&S now stops me from taking any risks to carry out my job. No more chasing scrotes across rooftops our along railway lines (Something I did several times in Ealing). Now if they do any of that, or drive at 45 in a 30, we get told to terminate the pursuit. I thought I was paid to take a few risks, and the buzz you get from it was one of my motivations for joining in the first place.

I am no longer able to be the police officer that I or the public want me to be. It is a very sad state of affairs.

Roll on the revolution.....................

Darren

Re: Thieving SCUM

I'll vote for that kind of revolution.
Round here we have pea brains who think that driving at 90 in a 30 is entirely acceptable. The local plod are hamstrung because they have to H and S all speed traps and the main one is on a blind bend where they cannot see what's coming. Speed camera, don't be daft the nearest one is on a STRAIGHT bit of road.

Thanks plod, I know you've got a hard job, some of us appreciate it.

Re: Thieving SCUM

Good post plod.
Too many do gooders in this country these days. Bring back the birch and then watch the little sh*ts re-offend.
If my father had found me pinching someone elses possessions he would have give me a good "clip round the ear" and make me suffer the embarrassment of taking it back and apologising. Then my life would be hell until he was satisfied that i learnt my lesson. But i wasnt brought up that way and neither were the kids i grew up with. I was no angel i admit, but as a kid i was mischevious not a drug taking thief.

Re: Thieving SCUM

Stevie just mentioned the 'Birch', on that subject one of the 'old boys' in the village told me about the last person to get the birch in WQarminster. He knew the offender, who later told him that it was not the pain, (which must have been considerable) but the shame of having his trousers taken down on market day with a large crowd laughing, that made him go straight.

I recall something about punishment of this kind being outlawed by Brussels. Seemed to work though.

Re: Thieving SCUM

I'm for bringing back corporal punishment as well, from the schoolroom and above (up to the death penalty for pre-meditated murder and terrorism.)
We used to respect other people, nowerdays you can't even shout at them and when people see someone being robbed or beaten up they just close their curtains. kids today have no communical spirit as it's always 'me me and me' instead of 'us and me'.

Corporaral punishment may not have always been perfect but at least we didn't get the amount of stabbings & shootings that are rife today (which is even less perfect).
If the worst that a person can look forward to is a fine or being locked up then no wonder its so rife. at least they dont have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. (they might even get a fishing lake to while away their time by).

If someone in the forces acted like a big hardnut and was picking on people for no reason then we used to put them straight in no uncertain terms, and give them a lesson they would remember. they were shown that such behaviour was unnacceptable. and it worked.
Perhaps similar offenders should be put in the army or navy for a year or two; that might sort them out. as long as it didn't hinder our better trained forces.
It would certainly get rid of their uncontrolled aggression. They might even channel some of their aggression into something worthwhile for a change.
