Fishing For Char Ever since i lost a char on a loch called orasay-this is one of these lochs where if you have been fishing there for all your life and caught nothing, then a newcomer comes along a catches a whopper- i have been desperate to catch a char but the only problem is that they are really rare. What kind of baits or spinners do they like. Help will be much appreciated. Shaun

Re: Fishing For Char i seem to remember matt hayes and mick brown fishing for them and using small toby like spinners, i think they used them on a down-rigger system from a boat fishing in the deeper parts of the water they were fishing

Re: Fishing For Char i'm not too sure myself , i think it is primarily a heavy weight on the end of a rope with some sort of quick release clip on it,this is lowered down to the depths with your line in the clip and the lure a given distance behind the boat,if the lure is taken the line pops out of the clip and you are attached to the fish, the system allows you to use small lures or even baits ( i suppose !! ) without having to use a load of lead, i think i have it right,
