Pole advice!

Help!

Can anyone tell me how much line you should have between the pole tip and the float?

I tried a little and any wind that moved the tip moved the float.

I tried a lot and missed bites!

Whats the perfect in between?

Re: Pole advice!

Depends on the conditions but the whole idea of a pole it to have as little amount of line between end and fish as you can hit the bites better

I never go over 3 foot myself but I also have a pole rest to hold the pole as Im a bit of a wimp hehe

Re: Pole advice!

A pole rest sounds like a great idea, I think I can see my next pay packet being spent already!
