Fishing licences, less than 2 weeks to go

Well less than two weeks to go before the new fishing licences are out.

So how are you getting yours, I will be off down the post office with £25 in my hand, after all the troubles some guys had last year doing it online, I will stick with the safe and sure Post office.

I might even splash out for two this year so I can fish three rods in the run up to the French trip.

Re: Fishing licences, less than 2 weeks to go

funny did mine online earlier
considered 2 but just dont get out enough on dark side to warrent it( wish they did a 1/2 licence for the extra 1 rod)

by doing online you can print off receipt and this will cover you until arrives so effectively is instant

lets see how long it takes for paper one to arrive though

Re: Fishing licences, less than 2 weeks to go

I do mine by Bank Standing Order. I shall probably get an extra one week licence so that I can fish three rods at the Linear meet. Anyone know what a one week licence costs these days?

Re: Fishing licences, less than 2 weeks to go

I actually had my rod licence checked the other day for the first time ever. Didn't have mine with me but they just do a telephone check. I had a sudden panic that the licence expires at the start of March but I think one or two people were caught without one.

Too right - and I hear the on-line system can't seem to cope with someone who wants two different licences

(I always have a trout/coarse licence and a salmon/seatrout one - which allows me to fish single rod for all three salmonids, or up to four rods for coarse - the salmon/seatrout licence acts as a second coarse licence)

No, I will go to my tame sub-postmistress who I have trained over the years to copy the previous years data onto the next licence.

...and hopefully, by using a village sub, it puts off the day the government achieves its ambition of closing them .
