| Rod reccomendations please Hi I am looking to do some freshwater fishing after a long break , i live by the coast so the majority of my fishing is saltwater, i got into salt water fly fishing a while back ... i have bought a rod and line licence so i can have a crack at some trout.. i thought as i have the ticket i may aswell have a bit of a play at some course stuff too.. i am looking for suggestions for a universal rod (if such a thing exists), bit of float, bit of ledger/feeder fishing ... i have a couple of rods i can use for pike/carp, venues may vary from large still waters to rivers to canals.. the hampshire avon isnt far (barbel mmmmm) I have bee hoping to get a multi tip rod that will give me quiver tips from 0.5 to 3-4 oz plus an avon tip, i feel that will cover most scenareos, i am totally out of touch with FW fishing so any reccomendations you can make would be appreciated... nice site BTW |

| Re: Rod reccomendations please Yes I also like the J.Wilson Avon/Quiver or its bigger brother the J.Wilson Barbel rod. which are great rods. Another rod that I can whole-heartedly recommend is the 12' Greys prodigy Barbel rod which also has an avon top pus 3 quivertips and comes with a lifetime guarantee. You can use the avon top for float fishing and legering or one the excellent quivertips. You can buy these at around £90 to £100 if you search on the web. __________________ Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |
