Rod reccomendations please

Hi

I am looking to do some freshwater fishing after a long break , i live by the coast so the majority of my fishing is saltwater, i got into salt water fly fishing a while back ... i have bought a rod and line licence so i can have a crack at some trout.. i thought as i have the ticket i may aswell have a bit of a play at some course stuff too..

i am looking for suggestions for a universal rod (if such a thing exists), bit of float, bit of ledger/feeder fishing ... i have a couple of rods i can use for pike/carp, venues may vary from large still waters to rivers to canals.. the hampshire avon isnt far (barbel mmmmm)

I have bee hoping to get a multi tip rod that will give me quiver tips from 0.5 to 3-4 oz plus an avon tip, i feel that will cover most scenareos, i am totally out of touch with FW fishing so any reccomendations you can make would be appreciated...

nice site BTW

Yes I also like the J.Wilson Avon/Quiver or its bigger brother the J.Wilson Barbel rod. which are great rods.

Another rod that I can whole-heartedly recommend is the 12' Greys prodigy Barbel rod which also has an avon top pus 3 quivertips and comes with a lifetime guarantee. You can use the avon top for float fishing and legering or one the excellent quivertips.
You can buy these at around £90 to £100 if you search on the web.

Re: Rod reccomendations please

depends on what sort of money your looking at spending realy i have got the browning ambition feeded rod and that is a great rod you can float fish ledger and if you put the big heavy tip on you can method fish.

the ambition rod costs £37 for the 10" and £39 for the 11" £43 for the 12"

but if your looking at spending some moneyt on a rod that will out last anythink else you have then it has to be theaggressor Bob Nudd feeder

i have this rod as well and it is just amazing truly you cant beat it and if you have the money get 1 because you wont regret it all action great tip can feel small fish and not bump them yet you can hall out 45lb carp on it i have a mate that has used my rod one time and caught a 42lb cat fish on it on a bollie.

they cost about £140 for the 12" and £160 for the 13" perfactly ballanced and an unbeatable rod it realy is.

hope this helps

Elliot
