Finlake Holiday, Newton Abbot

The wife has just booked a long weekend holiday to Finlake. Tried to get info about the lake onsite, but have had difficulty.
Norfolkboy posted a thread back in the olden' days, but no follow up on species etc.

Would be grateful for anything regarding this site!

Just looking forward to a break really, but with piscatorial facilities, opportunities not to be missed!

Cheers

Re: Finlake Holiday, Newton Abbot

I've stayed at Finlake many years ago. Very nice site, although I never fished the site lake. However there is some top class Sea Trout fishing just below the site on the river Teign. I bought a day ticket for that in a tackle shop at Newton Abbot. So make sure you take a fly rod mate. After dark is definately best.

Re: Finlake Holiday, Newton Abbot

Hi Elliot.

I stayed at Finlake about 4 years ago. It is a fantastic holiday park.
Finlake has several lakes that you can fish. They contain Carp, Bream, Roach, Dace, Tench and Perch. lovely location and as Ian says there is a fantastic river running just below the the park. I believe it also has a run of Salmon.
Make sure you take your rods and get us some more points for the hunt.

Sean.

I was just flicking through a copy of Anglers Mail, from Sept 07 when in the regional section, Finlake appears!

Two pools containing Tench - 4lb, Crucian Carp - 2lb 8oz, and Roach and Rudd - 1lb.
Float fished Meat seems the best or banded pellet, with Bread for the Crucian's.

£10.00 per day for non-residents 09:00 - Dusk only.
Free to residents.
Toilets and food available. Open all year!
Tel: 01626 853833

Local tackle shop: Tackle Trader, Newton Abbot. Tel:01626 331613

Thanks for your help! Tempted by the Teign. Hmmmm
