Bent Hooks

Hi, Could someone please explain to me about Bent hooks and why they are banned on Carp Waters, I can only assume that Bent Hooks means the shape of the hook. A little confused

The term "bent" hooks refers to certain long shank carp hooks bent at 30° in the middle, They can cause bad damage to the mouths of fish and not fall out easily if the fish becomes snagged and the line breaks while playing the fish.
