Scary Moment

There I was at the weekend, happily fishing for roach on my NEW pole, just about to land one when a pike lunges out and grabs it and off it scarpers, what followed was 5 minutes of me swearing and hoping the pole doesnt break as it extends the elastic beyong what I am sure it is suppost to do, evenually lets go of whats left of roach. I lit a smoke.

ever happened to anybody else?

You may of had more chance if you were using a rod and line...

About 2 years ago on Ulverston canal...spent all day catching small roach on a warm day...completly in a world of my own...Bringing a small roach across the surface 2 feet from the bank a huge pike snatched it....I absolutly cacked myeslf and got covered in water....Really woke me up...the fight was very short...I picked the undies out my bum and set up again..
