| I want to go fishing, but should I? Hi all, I have been told that fishing whilst on a sicky is the kiss of death to catching. Well I am signed off for another week, got a chest infection and heart rate troubles, I do not have a lot of spare energy but I am sure I am fit enough to dangle a line in a small pond somewhere on a pleasant autumn day. Question is should I bother or will the fishing gods and goddesses punish me with a blank? I was contemplating sacrificing a small child and dancing naked round a goat in the back garden to ward off bad luck, but I am not fit enough for that. What should I do? | Re: I want to go fishing, but should I? make the sacrifice less energetic, I:E sprinkle a little bit of groundbait over the area you intend to fish and relax(bedchair rest ) __________________ 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day , Game on www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0 |

| Re: I want to go fishing, but should I? I don't know what line of work you're in (none of my business) but if you're well enough to load your car up, go for a drive, unload, spend a day outdoors, then load your car back and drive home then it could probably be argued in court that you were well enough to go to work? If you do hard physical work normally then that's another story. Not having a go at you. Just pointing out that there are always two ways of looking at things. |

| Re: I want to go fishing, but should I? Noel, I know what you are saying, I cannot do my job at the moment as the concentration levels are too great for me to cope ( and the stress!). I am an electronics test engineer, what I do involves a high degree of concentration and accuracy, I make a mistake and the customer is the next one to find out, I have no margin for error. I would not be up for a full days fishing anyway, do not have the energy levels for that, but I am going stir crazy stuck at home, I will probably be a good boy and stay at home but the urge to toodle down the road and have a quick fish is very strong. Maybe I should ask the Doctor to sign a fishing pass for me?? __________________ Life is brief and fragile. Do that which makes you happy. |

| Re: I want to go fishing, but should I? In that case it sounds like fishing could do you more good than harm. Seems like a nice relaxed fishing trip could do you good. I used to get a bit stressed sometimes when fishing but now I just 'go with the flow' and find it a great stress reliever. Hope you get well soon. ![]() |
