Hi I have just started fishing again after 35 years and when I went to the tackle shop I was amazed at all the the new things that there was now.I wonder if there is anybody out there who could help me, is there a book or dvd that would show me in detail of all the corse fishing details that you think would help me to pick up on todays way of fishing.

hope you can help.

Re: Help

Hello mate the tackle out there is a bit over the top nowadays.
When i was a lad it was a tank ariel and a bent pin lol.
If you bought everything you see in the shops you would need a forklift truck to carry it to yer venue.
Cheapest option on books and DVD is to visit the good old library they have a good manner of books about see fishing and coarse fishing.
The John Wilson books are a good bet, the bloke is a complete loony but he seems to keep things simple.

Talking Re: Help freshwater fishing

Hi

Well Im not sure about the latest book on freshwater fishing as its been a while

But what I would say is nothing much has changed - its only got smaller and thinner

Do you have any fishing tackle ?

And what type of fish are you after ?

Once you get back into it you will wish you never went away

Just ask as many questions as you like as we are all here to chip in with help

Re: Help

The John Wilson books are very good, but a lot of them jsut tell you about what he's done, and not what tackle you need etc, unless there is 1 out there, i have a book about coarse fishing basics, and it's handy even though it's about 15 or 20 years old. .

there are a lot of magazines out today as well, improve your coarse fishing (iycf) is a very good magazine, if you're after carp, there's magazines on that, and if you're after pike and predatory fish there's mags on them too!!
