Cool Polarised Sunglasses

Hi all
Can anyone recommend where to get a good pair of Polarised glasses that can be worn over normal specs?
Regards David

Smile Re: Polarised Sunglasses

Shakespeare make a giant pair, designed to be worn over ordinary specs.

These have got good wrap around arms to stop the sun blinding you from the 'off side'.

They are not much money. A visit to www.mullarkeys.co.uk will probarbly net you some.

They are not a fashion item. Please please please don't wear them off the bank!!!!

Regards

Malc

Re: Polarised Sunglasses

PS. the way to tell if they really are Polarised is to take a pair you know are polarised and look through them and the 'new' pair at a light and turn them 90 degrees... the lens' should go black.
Maybe this'll help even if I'm no help finding some.

Re: Polarised Sunglasses

Hi David,

Shortly before going on holiday I purchased a pair of "Clip Ons" from Harrolds Opticians. They had various sizes to cover all types of Specs, the ones I bought were a little oversized and proved to be extremely effective.

Cost was £15 but well worth it as they are light.

I also have a pair of Polarised glasses bought from the same people a few years ago but they are cumbersome, go for a pair of clip ons.

Regards

Drew

Thumbs down Re: Polarised Sunglasses

Hi
Thanks biggun, MALCG, Omahayank, & Drew for answering my query on polarised sunglasses.
Contacted Mullarkeys as Mel suggested but they can’t ID them and asked for model number which they say is on one of the arms.
Tried both USA & UK Shakespeare web sites, pretty hopeless.
Help
Regards David

Re: Polarised Sunglasses

OOOH yes, I think someone has you fellas by the short hairs!!!
I'll look at stuff, say at Veals. Ya the price looks ok....till...you nearly double it for $'s... WOW !!!! and thats w/o postage. I see stuff in Australia and think if only it could be shipped Cheaply....a tidy profit in US, a KILLING in UK!
AND to top it all off...Your Postal Svc. opens your pkg and charges you V.A.T. on top of that. even if its old, even if its used, & even if its already yours!!!!
I read a bit, If I visit the U.K. and I try to mail my own clothes instead of hassle w/luggage I'll get charged VAT if they look "Too New"!!!! Splain dat tu me?
cheers Nelson

ps. I'm spoiled now, Both Cabela's and Bass Pro have local stores now. If they dont have something, thats in the catalog, they'll order it and shipping to the store is free!!

Cool Re: Polarised Sunglasses

Good Morning Dave,

Got your pm at the beginning of the week but couldn't reply until today.

On the right arm is 5573BLK CE and on the left arm is FC3.

There are no other marks anywhere on the specs.

Does this help or have you found other specs?

I may be able to help further.

Regards

Malc
