| now what to do well as most are aware last night at midnight the river fishing ended until June the 16th to allow the fish to rest and spawn no doubt there will be the few who will ignore this . now close season is to allow the fish to spawn but with rising temperatures we are seeing early and late spawning of species putting them out side the current close season some times i think it should be changed but that's my own opinion and is for another debate . so what are we to do now well its not all doom and gloom and some area,s are lucky enough to have canals near by which can still be fished so for some there will be no change also we all have lakes in are area,s so again fishing can continue and then there is all way the coast for the angler who wants to lightly dabble in a bit of leisurely sea fishing with out taking it to seriously . i myself will now turn to carp and tench fishing for the next couple of month before june 16th where i will head back up to the drains in search of the carp and get away from the increasing busy commercial waters which are getting over full unless you can go during the week . and i hoping with the current meets which are coming up from next weeks linear meet and then a great social that is going to be had by 6 lucky forum members who are going off to france in may for a awesome trip . so hopefully the close season will pass a bit quicker so how much will it affect your own fishing with the current close season and what will you target while you wait for rivers to re-open ?? tightines kevin ![]() Last edited by baitmaster; 03-15-2007 at 09:59 AM. |
