Re: September Fish of the Month - VOTE

There are some superb fish this month.

I have chosen the Pike because a 26lb Esox is a good Pike and I don't see many of them of this size these days, but it was very hard to choose one this month as they are all fantastic fish.

Re: September Fish of the Month - VOTE

Hi all

I have voted for the Bass, the catfish is a cracker as is the Shark,

I don't know too much about Trout except that they can be grown in a tank and released at a large size so i presume can be quite easy to catch

I hope i have not offended the trout boys as i know that trout do scrap and will take some skill to land but i am in favour of fish being wild, that's why i don't fish in carp pools either after known fish

If i am wrong with the trout please accept my apologies, i don't mean to offend anyone

Darrell

No offence taken whatsoever and in fact I agree with you in many ways. I never go carp fishing in stocked pools as I just don't see the challenge of it, and I've always preferred small yet wild Brown trout from rivers and natural lakes (Ullswater and the River Eden spring to mind). Still small, stocked trout waters are excellent learning grounds and I use them to brush up my casting skills and dry-fly accuracy.

There's actually a beck behind the fishery where I caught the trout in my above photo and it's open to fishing for wild brownies...

That bass is absolutely awesome! Well done to Cuckoo on a fantastic fish.
