Well done everyone!

It's not often that you get the chance to bag a really good fish. It is what we all keep going out for. That rare occasion when everything goes right and you get the big one.

Re: ***Forum Fish of the Year 2007 - WINNER***

I am flabbergasted by this prestigeous award.....

Thanks to all who voted for the skate, thanks for your congratulations and thanks to Davey Holt who put us over the skate mark and expertly boated and returned the fish.

It is a big fish, but not as common skate go. But if you want to experience catching skate get yourself up to the West of Scotland and take a day out with a good skipper. Vagabond and I have been fishing for skate on our annual trip to Scotland for some ten years or so. Its a rare year when we don't see a skate and thats usually been when the weather has prevented us getting out in the boat.

Now, those other Fish of the Month, they were all very good fish. Well done everyone. Here's to an exciting set of entries in 2008.
