Low flying Spitfire! Contains Foul Language! Not Work-Safe The pilot has some balls, especially with a Spitfire (and the value of it) in his hands! Rob

Re: Low flying Spitfire! I went down to Warsash last year to watch 7 of them fly over and the noise they make is incredible, not over loud but just a deep throb. The hairs on my neck were stood on end for ages. they must have been some sight 60 odd years ago. __________________ Come on you HULL!

| Re: Low flying Spitfire! Total respect goes to the camera man!!! He didn’t move a muscle. Lee, you are so right about the Harrier. The summer before last we had a Harrier fly in for the Torbay Regatta. It did all the stunts you have described over the sea just outside Torquay harbour. I was a matter of a hundred yards from it. This visit also signalled one of its final flights as they were soon to be decommissioned. Awesome aircraft. Kiwi. __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha. | Re: Low flying Spitfire! love the spitfires but most memorable i have seen has to be either a lightening going vertical just off southend pier (watched the waters part below it!!) or a vulcan on low fly by (just awsome) great clip rob __________________ 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day , Game on www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0 |

Re: Low flying Spitfire! Have to agree on all counts. The giant Air Base south of town (Offutt Air Force Base - Photos) has an air show every year around my birthday so I let my son Take Me to it. The Harrier always thrills the crowd. A couple years ago we went on the "walk throughs" of the air craft....that Vulcan is an impressive (if ugly) plane, and the crew were a gr8 and friendly bunch too. Be proud of'em. ![]() ps. I had a chuckle about the patience of the vulcan crew....having to explain again and again what a Very Pistol was.... __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working! The Harrier is awesome! I was at World Superbikes in 2001 at Brands Hatch and between the races a Harrier did a display and hovered over Paddock Hill bend. Everyone had their hands over their ears, but god it was impressive Rob

On a similar thread When I was in the service I went up in an RAF Hercules (What I think you would now call a C130 or 160) They were to despatch support supplies to a unit of my people working on the ground. The Flight Sergeant took me round, introducing me to members of the crew. It went something like this, "Yes this is the pilot - 1st in his class at flight school - got a 1st degree in English from Oxford.... ...This is the co-pilot same sort of history but went to Cambridge.... .....Next the Navigator - got a 1st in Applied Mathematics - Imperial College London - speaks 6 modern languages. ....Me (he said) I've been in the RAF for 20 years, done this job for 10 and I've never missed a drop zone.... ....and the aircraft that we are all relying on today was built by the company who cut the most corners and tendered for the least amount. Just relax and enjoy the flight." It made me think. Regards Malc __________________ "Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this son of York;"
