Went for a ride on the bike yesterday...

Went for a ride on the Fireblade yesterday with my GoPro HD camera attached. Can't believe my luck with this mild weather! I added the music as over 20mph all you can hear is wind noise. This is my other passion in life

Re: Went for a ride on the bike yesterday...

Thought this was going to be a funny story about a pushbike....

If you ever feel the need for a passenger to film for you..... I'll even pay!

Have always had a passion for bikes, yet still never got round to learning to ride....
Now I'm probably mature enough finally (I wouldn't of lasted long in my younger years....), there's no way on this earth I could afford one.

So I settle for fishing instead.

Strangely enough I was into scooters for years too, just sold a GP200 last year. I still know lots of people in the scooter scene and my long time friend runs a scooter business for a famous tuner in Doncaster I still go the IOW rally in August as one of my mates lends me one his Lambrettas.

Ish, bikes are not that expensive at the moment, it's a buyer's market.

Things have moved on a bit since I used to tape the camcorder to the tank of my FZR 10 years ago, video quality was awfull but you couldnt see much when it was pointing at the sky most of the time !!

Been there mate, technology has moved on in leaps and bounds. This camera cost £200 and can record up to 1080p @ 30 fps. I love it.

Re: Went for a ride on the bike yesterday...

Cor, watching your vid Rob, brought back so many wonderful memories of my biking days. I was into bikes starting around 1959 when I bought a 197cc Francis Barnett 2 stroke. In those days you could learn on any size bike and once I'd passed my test I bought an Ariel square four - 1000cc 4 cylinders. That used to burn oil at a pint every 50 miles so it was soon got shot of. Then I bought a Trumpet Thunderbird and finally a Vincent Rapide. My biking days came to an end when I had a very near miss on 'Death Hill' near Dartford. My new wife decided she'd pay for me to have car lessons, so that was it. Kind regards.

That's a great story mate. You had some legendary bikes. That was when bikers were real men, got their hands dirty and caused mayhem. I sometimes get talking to guys from that era when I park the bike up and it's always a pleasure to listen to them.
