desperate for points

well i went to weybourne beach with a freinds dad to try and catch a fish or two.
i arrived just around 5pm and dave was all ready fishing as i came over the shingle bank . soon i had my rod set up and my two hook rigs were soon baited with lug .
i cast one short and one long to try and see where i would get any action if any .

here is a pic form the right of where i was fishing you can see the shingle slopes quite sharply away so it was fairly deep in close .
soon the rods were giving the tell tales signs of crabs attacking the baits i looked at my watch to see how long they had been out and it was around ten minutes ,so i knew i would be recasting every ten minutes .
i was looking around and was looking down to my right when suddenly a fish lept clear of the water about 50 yards away and about 10 yards out it looked around 6lb or so but could have been bigger or smaller but it was nice to see it as it was the first time i,de ever seen a bass leap out like that .
so one of my rods was dropped out 10 yards and the other was now moved in to about 25yards out .
i reeled in and lo and behold there attached to my hook was a weaver fish .
so i took a quick pic for points and hopefully the forum record aswell .
(well i,m desperate for points ).

this done the rod was back out and the crabs seemed to be leaving the baits alone for some reason but still now real knock were fourth coming .i continued doing this and then i was sure i had a different kind of movement on my rod tip so i pick up my rod and brought it in and there attach was a little flattie i,m assuming its a dab but it does look like a small plaice as its got red spots on it if so i,ll happerly have another 1 and a half points please

that was all that happeni had another couple of uneventful cast cast then packed up and went home .

tightlines
kevin

Thumbs up Re: desperate for points

Nice one Kev. Not had a weever yet this year. Is that the Greater or lesser type? Recon that Flattie might be a Plaice, but i'll leave that to the experts...
Whats happened to your Species hunt partner TJ not heard from him for a while?
