variety makes it fun

well i went again late this afternoon with my mates dad who like to get out a do a bit of sea fishing himself .
we went to weybourne where i went last week as this was convient for david .
the tide was a big tide and high water was around 7.40pm and i was quietly confident i could bag a fish during this session .we got there about 4ish and headed straight over the shingle bank to where the drainage pipe trinkle water into the sea . i decide to fish two hook set up on both rods one with 1/0 and the other with size 1 short shank aberdeens hooks .
baits for this session were lugworm, squid and rag with the last to being used to tip off with . soon i sent my first rig out and as it was a deep water beach the other was drop in close hoping for a early bass .
after a couple of cast cause of the crabs i got my first positive tap on the tip and i was soon unhooking my first fish of the session well thats stopped the blank any way

i sat back down after recasting this out thinking well i,m doing as good as i did last time lets hope for more .again the crabs made them selfs known with the distictive light vibration on the rod tip (well you know how crabs bite ).
i was staring up at my tip thinking that it was acting different so i thought i better investigate it as i felt it was not a crab making it vibrate like it was and sure enough dab number two was soon in my hands

this time it was my close in rod i recast this out with lug tipped with squid and while i was up recast the other to and then settle back as we got to the top of the tide the crabs had stopped being annoying and i soon had some more interest in my close in rod and soon on the shore i had my first ever eel from the sea

great i thought another species for the species hunt surprisingly it was not to bad to unhook and was soon back in the water and the rod was out waiting for more fish to appear (we live in hope ) now the tide was right on the top and all was quiet and i was thinking to myself whether or not it would fish well on the ebb when my close in rod again gave a good thump and i picked up the rod wound down and pulled back but nothing was on the hook so a good chance went amiss this was soon back out close in and i got a tap on the other rod i waited but it did not go again but for some reason i decided to reel in and check and to my amazement and utter surprise was a very small fish but on closer inspection got me excited cause i knew it was worth another 1 and a half points and it was a CODling
actually thought i would not catch one, this actually regardless of its size made me really happy and it was soon put back

now the tide was turning and the sun was setting and i no longer was worried what came or not now especially after i watched a cracking sunset

its not all about fish any way soon it was dark and the tip lights were on and sitting there motionless at the end of the rods with me staring up at them hoping one would pull over

to my amzement the left had one did but not a huge pull more like a tap really but a bite is a bite again it was quickly in and this time it was yet another species for me this tiome a flounder wooohhhooo mopre points .

this was soon let go and was i happy or what 5 fish 4 different species three new ones for me i fished for another half in hour but did not get no more bite so i packed up a really happy angler .
you know what they don,t have to all be big to enjoy our fishing

What a belting session you had mate, and that's the kind of sunset that'll make you forget to re-bait your hooks.....

Nice one Kev.
