defo worth bringing down the rods

great yarmouth north beach is a great beach for rays, cod, whiting, dogfish, whiting, pout, flounder, plaice etc.. (depending on seasons obviously)

yarmouth also has a pier which is worth trying

gorelston pier is also near by, and is great for flounder, bass and eels

and my favourite mark is just down the road, Pakefield

great venue for big cod, whiting and pout, lots of eels, loads and loads of flatties, i've never blanked there, also if you go to Cromer pier there is loads of big bass.

Hope this helps, any more info ask...

Re: going to great yarmouth for hols

Hi people,
if l recall the last time l fished off of Yarmouth pier a bloke near me caught a young seal, it is something to do with a sand barr a few hundred yards out from the pier. But that was some time ago when we caravaned at Caistor, we couldn't afford hotels then. Also the local lads had a trick with a wire shopin' basket - a bit of wire and a length of handline. They would cut the basket into 5. A bottom and the 4 sides.( Throw the handles ) Fasten a length of hand line to the top of each side, and wire the sides to the bottom so that when it was dropped flat it all opened out and laid flat. A few fish heads wired to the bottom with some ballast to sink it and they dropped it between the pier pylons. 30 seconds - 1 min. later they hauled it up FAST so as to reform the basket shape an trap their prey..... Crabs. The crabs they caught where of a good size and havin' purchased a couple they tasted good as well. I don`t know if this would work today or even if it would work else where in the world, but it would be good to find out. So here's another trap for Ben to try State Side at one of his local piers .
