having a change

well on saturday i mate phoned me and asked if i wanted top dust off my sea kit and goes for a few hours .
weather was cold with wintery showers but i decided why not .
the car was packed and off down tro the beach we went after a few minutes of picking are spots i was soon set up and my little tip lights staring like two little red eyes down at me .
i was suprised at how high the waves were breaking on the beach as it was not windy and it was north westerly and blowing from over our backs .i was glad it was dark and no one could see my poor attempts at casting now whether it was me not getting very far out or wether it was the strength of the tide but i could not hold out at all and i was being pulled out of position and was having to constantly recasting .not a bite for 5hours but my enthusiasm was high. any way it has made a nice change to get out and have a session with an old mate and have a go at the sea regardless at how blooming cold it was .
so neither of us caught a fish but we really did not care as we caught up on whats been going on since we last got out together .

Re: having a change

Shame about the fish but a few hours with a mate fishing is tops

As for casting might need to keep the dust of the kit abit more

Re: having a change

does you good to have a change now and then.
my piking has slowed a bit of late,i'm off to one of my local rivers next to try for a chub or two,
a change of scenery is all it takes to get the enthusiasm going again

Re: having a change

Sounds like a great trip to me.
Thats why we call it 'fishing' and not 'catching', but you caught up w/your friend=good fishing.

Re: having a change

i have to say yes when i go with freinds they are a bit special to me cause with my zedding i have to say with all honesty that i fish selfishly as i am trying to catch a big zed so i have to really fish on my own .but occassionally i might get asked to take some one which i will do but i try to take them to spots i know they might catch and not my hot spots i am fishing at the present .
