Today

Well, finally got out today with my grandad. We left at about 4:30 and arrived at Lowestoft Sea Wall for just after 5:30.

First time fishing off the rocks, and I loved it.

Really nice weather, started sweating, and got sunburnt

Bait was rag and baby squid (love these baby squid baits)

Within a minute I had a small rattle, but nothing came off it. After 5 minutes I then had a really good cod bite, and after about 5 minutes of trying to get it up the rocks (grip leads and 3 hook rig ) landed this beauty at just over 3lb:

Decided to change rig after that to rolling lead, and 1 hook (4/0) with really big baits, as decided I didn't want too waste my time bringing up little whiting with all that hassle.

Got some really good bites, lots of slackliners, and after losing 2 decent fish in the rocks, and 2 sets of gear, finally got another codling of around 1lb, went back as did the next fish I caught which was another codling of just over 1lb.

We decided to leave the rocks at 8:30, as it would be quite dangerous in the dark. We travelled to Pakefield.

Nothing producing, we both caught a pout each and that was it.

Left at 11. Very happy

Re: Today

Thanks lads. I think we'll be travelling back there in the winter as it seems a great cod mark.

Maybe more this summer for some bass and conger, mabe some wrasse too? Do they all feed around rocks??

Mackerel and garfish feed around rocks too?
