river ouse kings lynn

Asked my daughter what she wanted to do today it was just me and her, and to my supprise she said fishing. Bonus I thought then I looked outside and it was sleeting, that's blown it I thought... told poppie what the weather was doing and asked her if she wanted to stay at home, no daddy she said I still want to go. thats pretty hard core for a six year old , so anyway wrapped up and off we went up the river. fished peg seven so we had a shelter.short session but two flounders on first two casts tide slacked off and that was it. all fish on blacks three hook flapper with size4 hooks long snoods. nice session considering the weather the last week.

That's a nice report. Were the fish large enough to bring home and have for tea? Kind regards.

biggest went 27cm smallest 16-17cm. kept the biggest as swallowed the hook, if not it would have been returned. this year has produced a good selection of flounder many over a pound my biggest being 1lb 11oz. in the summer peeler works best, this time of year worm and some fish baits.

Hi mate welcome to the forum, sounds like your daughter is a fisherwoman in the making, well done on the flounder and for braving the weather.
