Orford- very few cod showing as yet

Fished with 12 others in a match Friday 8th October, 2 small codling caught , whiting and the odd dogfish.
Need a few sharp frosts hopefully this will bring the cod in, hope so surely it cant be as bad as last year ?

Fished Orford again on the 29th October, replaced 8 who had been on all night 2 small codling and whiting only between them, we fished with 13 no codling one small doggie and a few small whiting. Wind was supposed to be south westerley and was a strong easterly although not unfishable and still able to bang a bait out. What the hell is wrong the place is fishing pants!!!!!!!!!!!

the water temp is too warm need it to drop a couple of degrees then the cod will show, last year i found was good fishing at this time but the spring run never happened cos of the snow run off pushed the fish offshore. long may this cold snap continue

Thanks for that, yes with this cold snap it should improve. I am going across again on Mon 29th leaving at 7am, at present I am the only one booked in so if anybody else fancies it contact pete the ferryman....Tight Lines all

Heard today that a few cod have been showing topped by a 25 pounder caught over the weekend and weighed in at Breakaway tackle ipswich. What a cracker from the beach. Also 2 double figure fish caught from the dirty wall at Aldeburgh.

couldnt get hold of pete last night, phone was permanently engaged will try again today,i guess everyone and their dog is trying to book to get over now that the news is out about the 25lber is public knowledge
