Decided even after slicing the tip of my finger off 2 weeks ago to try a spot of fishing to see if it had healed enough, had 4 others with me, not much happening, the odd ting and pout, but the pout were over a pound, but did manage to snare on the middle hook a real big edible crab, that was sold on and the monies put into our 2011 R N L I fundraising, also had a bonus of a pollock of 3/4 pound that swam away when put back, all in all, we were out, finger took the fishing, so will be going more often,

Nice one Fella , glad the finger didn't keep you away too long ! theres nothing like a bit of rag juice in a wound to keep your eyes watering .

lol, no, had it covered n waterproofed, no way i was getting saltwater on that, would of been dancing around like a looney if i had, got hard work for the RNLI next year, after our small fishing club raising 1,580 this year, weve been challenged to beat that sum next year already, but i have companies who helped us this year, already supporting us next year, so were hoping we will win the challenge, and get an even bigger sum

well done mate - being a commercial fisherman for years nothing like a sliced finger with a few fish juices a bit of sand and the odd hook - more than makes yr eyes water, good luck with all the fund raising wish more could be done for them, perhaps should start up a forum on here for rnli and see what people can come up with????

Or maybe an RNLI thread to see what people can think to do to help them ??

these guys deserve as much support as we can give them - RNLI thread would be excellent idea, it would be interesting too hear what fundraising the other parts of the country do?????

well, this year was our first year, held a bbq, raffle and auction, disco(yeah basic) but got a full room, had 70+ companies supporting us with things for the raffle and auction, even wrote to the cast of eastenders who sent stuff, and had Langdons kindly sponsor the whole event, next year were aiming at 120 plus people at the event with abba dance, a tribute group playing, so looking to try n go for 2k + , but anymore ideas on what we can do in the lead up to it in July would help greatly
