1. Dover breakwater / Deal beaches / Dungeness area are popular marks 2. nope, not on open beaches, perhaps in harbours and estuaries 3.main line of 15-18 lb with shockleader of 50 - 60 lb 4.FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE ![]() 5.only keep fish for the table if they are over the minimum size for the species. 6.Fish any time from now until christmas for some good mixed catches..you want to fish as a general rule 2 hours either side of high water. As semi beginners i would suggest fishing the breakwater at Dover for easy access and good sport ! ( this is the only place where you may need to pay to fish ( not for the fishing but for access to the pier - a common practice on most of the larger piers as it helps with renovations )..shouldn't be more than a fiver but remember Google is your friend Hope this helps, Steve __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |

| Re: Fishing Kent I'd suggest you think about joining a club, most are willing to help new members, and buying bait as a group can be cheaper too. Good luck and tight lines. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril |

| Re: Fishing Kent Well this is a friendly forum!! Hello all. I just joined up in the hopes of getting your expert advice As the group may grow I think we should stick to beach/pier fishing where we can hire equipment etc... beginner friendly. So I just wanted any recommendations for where to stay and what we can expect to catch? we are both quite keen sea fishers, now my dad lives in la so we fish in mexican waters :) on visits so would be great to catch something tasty. Really appreciate your time guys, hope you can help! Thanks, Danielle |

| Re: Fishing Kent Hi Daniel 1/ Sandwich bay, sandown, deal, deal pier, Kingsdown, Breakwater, Addy Pier, Samphire hoe, Folkestone pier, rotunda beach folkestone, sandgate castle, Hythe, Dengemarsh, Dungeness obviously different venues fish better at different times of the year 2/ I would not reccomend a carp rod, a nice 12ft beachcaster is much better 3/ 15-18lb mainline with a 60lb leader line 4/ deal pier 4 quid a rod, Folkestone pier 3.50, addy pier 6 quid, breakwater 7 quid plus 6 quid for the boat, the rest are free 5/ yes as long as there within the nfsa size limits, and only take wat you intend using 6/ depends what you want to catch, Sandwich bay spring for thornbacks, most of the others for cod from October to february, most will pick up dabs, whiting, pout, lsd, Shakey beach is good for mackeral, black bream and bass in spring and summer to be honest as a begginer i would avoid the breakwater or addy pier and use a beach that has a limited tide run, the breakwater and addy can have a fierce tidal run __________________ https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/122835604396392/ Proud supporters of the RNLI Dover Lifeboat http://www.dover-lifeboat.org.uk/index.php |
