| Re: anyone fished southwold lately Hi You can fish the beach (if not too busy) or the Pier. You can pay a fee around £6 at the end of Pier shop to fish this during the daytime, but will have to become a member to fish it at night, as a key a needed. I have fished the beach a couple of times during April without much luck, but others have good catches. It is a shallow beach to fish tho and a good cast is needed for any depth. I've inside information it's good for bass in the summer. The pier is a good option and big cod have been pulled out all year, tho even at the end of the pier its said to only be 20ft deep. A good day out option is waht me and a few friends did, we hired a boat from the harbour, which was great fun, and the skipper is a helpful and an excellent chap. I have his name and number if your interested. We came back with a freezer full of fish, best being a 6lb Cod. Hope its not to late, and it helps |
