short trip off southend.

done a single tide from southend today.down the boat at 9am dug for an hour and had enough worm for the day .afloat at 10 30am went to the middle grounds,2 rods each.used whiting live bait on 1 rod and single lug on the other.did not get nothing on the live bait but we had to try it after losing some big fish that had took whiting last week.had 16 codling to 8lb and 2 very nice dabs between 3 anglers in 4 hours fishing, weather was perfect so all in all a good day to be out there.

A good day all round then. Cod to 8lb can't be sniffed at....

Nice one.

Re: short trip off southend.

just spoke to a friend of mine who was also out yesterday,he was using whiting live bait on one rod and had one of 5lbs. not as big as expected but still a catch to a livebait ,so many decent sized fish have been lost to anglers that have hooked a whiting only to have a cod come along and take it that locally a lot of anglers are live baiting and hopefully someone will soon land a biggie.i,ll let you know if it happens.

Thumbs up Re: short trip off southend.

Nice one SS. My Daughters recently moved to Benfleet, so hoping to do a bit of fishing over that way soon.
