Where to fish on Saturday in Essex

Hi Guys and Girls,

We are relatively new to all this. My sons and I have been fishing off the wall at Tilbury (Coal House Fort) Essex, for the last couple of weeks, mainly catching Whiting. We would like to progress to Cod and anything else available to newbies.

We plan to fish on Saturday, could anyone advise us as to where the best fishing is to be had!

We have ordered some lug worm and we have some mackeral and squid for bait.

Not too far from this location please, as we need to go to work later in the day.

Any advise grately appreciated.

Thank you

the black jetty on canvey is the hot spot at the moment with several doubles being caught off there in the past couple of weeks and plenty of codling around the couple of pound mark.night tides produce with a decent tide run.on the big tides the run can be too hard asthe water is very deep at the end.the stem around the dog leg is a good spot.mind how you go near the end as there are no gaurdrails.

Re: Where to fish on Saturday in Essex

they also call it the oj [occidental jetty].there is a ladder that gets you onto the steps.it is derelict and privatley owned.it has been fished from for years but is dangerouse in areas ie,no gaurdrails.it was not very well known until it was mentioned on the internet as a fishing hot spot.now it gets busy on there so i dont think it will be long before it is made off limits.
