Southend Pier 15/6/7

Yipee !!!!

TTF for Schoolie Bass ..... finally caught fish

Here endeth my longest run without a fish !

Comp was 1100 - 1600 HW1330 - very shallow water off the pier, you had the choice of fish the bottom end near the shore or further up so my top peg was between the 2 shelters which apparently is the better spot so thats where I went ...

55 fished - most blanked - hardly anything caught, those that caught had Schoolie Bass, Gar, Flounder - I think there were just 30 fish caught overall, majority being schoolie Bass, saw just one Gar & one Flounder caught. One lad from my team had 10 Bass and won overall - all schoolies, 1 on rag & 9 caught on feathers would you beleive - he was feathering for mackerel for the speices count and was catching Bass on feathers - never heard of that ? He was just about the end peg at the head of the pier ... my peg lottery theory back in play ...

Scores on the doors - came 5th ! One chuffed little bunny !

Thanks to John Gullyworm for tips over the phone about scent which worked

What next - the world

Anyway - a pic of the pier for those not been before ...

You can if they are cut down to 3 hooks - no restrictions on bait 'n'all that ...

Re: Southend Pier 15/6/7

When I fished it then - you had to buy a day ticket at the counter when you went in to the entrance (by the pier railway station) I seem to recall it was only a few quid.
