rorkes drift is on a distinguished road
never caught a conger

going fishing tomorrow for conger from the shore. i have never really tried to catch a conger, so here goes. i will be taking squid and mackerel. i have had a frew tips as to how to put the bait on the hook, has anyone else got any tips. if i am lucky all will be returned. thanks in advance.....gary

Plain and simple is always best when your congerin, tackle loss is big so you dont wanna be using anything you dont need

For bait if theres not many crabs about then mackerel and squid are fine, mackerel just put the hook up through the bottom jaw through the top of the head then it keeps the mouth closed and stops it spinning. You can either cut it in to a flapper or leave it whole and cut a few slits in to it to release sum scent
