Exclamation Cod Fever!!!

ahhhhh i have cod fever and it aint even winter!!!!!!
i was at work the other day taking the bones outa the cod when i thought "i really wanna catch a cod"
i have had it bad ever since, i spent all winter saying "i cant wait till summer n i can catch some better fish" and now i want it to be the winter so i can try my hand at cod fishing
i have already picked somewhere out where i think there should be cod in the winter, just need to get my casting distance abit better now

bring on the colder nights

Re: Cod Fever!!!

I'll be gearing up for the cod in October Ben, but I think I may have to drive up to the Bristol Channel for any chance of success

To be honest mate, I think it's a definite, the south coast is too warm really, besides it broadens your horizons I reckon

Ben i m going to thump you next time i see you.Colder nights???? Its only just the begginning of summer, think of all the Bass fishing to be done, dont tell me your bored of the smuts already?
Cod,they dont fight like smuts, they are not as good eating as a lot of fish, they turn up one tide for 30 minutes and then sod off again till ?,theres not many about and the weather is usually cold when you fish for them.
Having said all that though there is something about them and i to would love to catch an elusive south coast Cod but i m not wishing for colder nights

Very surprised to hear you caught smuts ,i lived in patrington untill 2 years ago and never heard of any in all the years i fished the area.
Still, Bass used to be unheard of aswell.
You make me very jeleous still catching cod, well done.
Where have you been fishing the clay gullys? Dimlington?
