| Re: feeding cod Answer to that is yes, you have just got to find them, they do love a bit of tide to get them feeding, in the boat, off the beaches night time will increase your chances. Hope that helps. Regards Graham |

| Re: feeding cod Afloat Cod are the laziest fish going and are caught on smaller neaps when there is no need to battle the tide and they can hoover any food on the bottom - coke cans - you name it ..this is when the pirks come into play and some spring monsters are caught over the wrecks .. in the winter we use massive squid baits on the inshore marks and get many to near 30lb ! I've done an 18hr charter before as an experiment and the fishing for cod at night was pretty surreal - but fishless too ! Chocolate coloured water or a choppy sea is your best bet for a shore cod during the day ( bristol channel is a good example ).. Large scented baits like black lug or peeler ( this does vary around the country ) also improve your chance during daylight but as suggested i would aim for a dark moonless night for best results ( or go afloat ) ![]() __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
