| Re: cod and the cold Cod like the Bass and every other species will always go where the food is - bass will chase sprats and mackerel in the summer months and Cod will move in to feed on the shrimp beds in late Autumn. Cod are caught almost year round in the U.K but are generally targetted by shore anglers in the winter months when the seas are choppy and the water is coloured. Yes they feed at night and day- the tides determine when they feed not the time of day ! As scavengers they will eat anything from coke cans to your grans false teef hence the size of mouth on them ! Cod will also chase whiting for dinner which tend to appear after a good spell of sharp frosty weather. I have fished over wrecks at 3 in the morning and although its surreal there are still Cod wide awake ! __________________ Shore Species 2012: Bugger All !! |
