Re: codling at chesil

Abbotsbury is one of the worst. Good call regarding West Bexington.

Smile Re: codling at chesil

Hi Guy's

Latest I heard was that there was a lot of doggies around on Chesil. West Bexington and Abbotsbury being plagued with them.

Cheers
Shaun

Cool Re: codling at chesil

I think that my last boat trip to Porlock Bay may hold the record for the number of Doggies caught in an 8 hour session. 109 between 6 of us!!

But we did catch other species as well. Doggies are OK if there is nothing else to catch but a B....dy nuisance went you want to catch something else.

Cheers
Shaun

Re: codling at chesil

that sucks pross. what area of south wales u been fishing? its been getting a little colder in the nights now. have heard of some cod catches in the small boats out of cardiff and the whiting shoals have been around for a while now (although small). normally the dogs thin out a bit around this time so u should be sorted mate. let me know what sorta marks u been fishing...

Re: codling at chesil

Actually haven't fished that much near home, just a few times at Goldcliffe in the summer. Had loads of bites but no hook ups. Also fished at Challaborough in South Devon a few times as I have a mobile home down there and before that in Ilfracombe which is where I had the doggies. Unfortunately lack of time means I have probably only fished about a dozen times since starting back at Easter. Still, I'll make up for it with a load of fish at the weekend!
