Hi Rob M,

I agree, since it first started I've watched nearly every episode, recording them all while I was at work and on holiday.

My wife was in tears last night when I arrived back from a fishing trip on Meridian Express, I knew he was ill but not that bad.

He will certainly be missed in our household.

Countdown was a favourite when I was a student in the early 90's, partly because it was the time I usually woke up I've watched it ever since then, Whiteley's humour has always been under-rated

it is sad he is not here anymore as his bad jokes did make me laugh.
