| favourite venues. OK so this is fishing related but I couldn't figure out where to put it (Mrs BB has just shouted "So what's new you drunken Welsh bum"), charming... I was just thinking about where my current favourite venues are and why. Wondered if other peopke have favourite spots too. So I thought I'd kick off with... Favourite Stillwater: Dudmaston Big Pool, Kinver Freeliners, near Bridgnorth. 5LB average tench, say no more. New to me this year and I fell in love with the place. Mullet: Gurnard beach, Near West Cowes, Isle of Wight, when the weather is right this is definately my favourited spot. Favourite river. Tough one this as I used to fish my native Taff a lot and suspect she's still great. It has to be the Severn for now though as that's where I spend my time. Both BAA and Kinver at Hampton Loade because it's close, the trains add to it and it's just such a lovely river. If I lived nearer to the Wye then that would nick it though. Lazy beach: Cardiff Barrage. Not because of the fishing this time but because I usually have an annual session here with my oldest mate and joint best man. We both live away from Cardiff so to fish at home is a real treat. Holiday beach. Whitecliff Bay , Isle of Wight. A stagger from the camp site . Just a joy to be at. I know there are better beachs on the island. I just enjoy 1. being on my second spiritual home and 2. finding a beach I can have a few cans at and not be too worried about being swept out to sea on. Canal. Staffs worcester. It;s on my doorstep (and soon will be even closer, if everything works out) and is full of fish, I think canals are hiding a great secret that many anglers are ignoring. Untapped potential. River Salwarpe near Worcester. A BAA water that I have yet to crack but love the look of. Quick session. River Stour, it's small, you know what you are going after and it's close. A cracking little river. No doubt people can come up with other categories. for now those are mine. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
