| Hi Guys, Am getting rid of the hamster he's nackered and he's retiring, and I am not sure about which Broadband provider to go with. Can I ask if anyone of you have good/bad reports to give on the set up that you use. Ones I have been looking at are: Wannadoo AOL BT What do you think? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Cheers Smoothy Garr |

| Re: Which Broadband? hi mate AOL- will corupt your computer, i had nothing but trouble with them BT- you will pay more, but get a good service NTL- uses a BT line, so you pay NTL and then they pay BT (strange) as for the others i dont really know ![]() __________________ Rough seas = Ground baiting |

| Re: Which Broadband ? I use Aol and have had no problems with them - but I always have a computer thats lest than two yrs old so how it works on older systems I could not say Quote:
As for the best deal Im not sure , but before getting Broadband check you need it . If you do not download or up load lots of images or music and you are getting connected 40 - 45 k then I would not bother Just depends how much you are on the net - one thing is once you are on broadband you will never go back is is very good Oh check what braodband you are getting too there are different speeds plus check if you are limited on time or downloads __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| My system is less than 2 yrs old... Dell. Have looked at AOL Gold 512Kbps no limit to useage... BT 512Kbps 15GB monthly allowance. Wannadoo 1GBps monthly allowance 5GB but.... not sure on the future allowances; they change in November. What I am after is to be able to be online all the time and use the phone at the same time, because my web site is getting heavy traffic. And because I am liable to need help, I also need a good after sales service. Because temp files take up space does this slow your system down, and how do you clear them out? Cheers Shaun |

| Re: Which Broadband? Sounds like aol is the one for you - I think its £19.99 a month plus support is good Computers should be defraged once a week as for cookies ext just stick with default settings unless you know what you are doing Quote:

| Re: Which Broadband ? Shaun, Whatever you do, do NOT go the AOL broadband route. They are most probably the worst provider in the UK. Their software is proprietary and I have lost count of the people who have had problems. BT offers very consistant service as does Nildram and Bulldog. NTL has a good service now and Telewest have caught up too. Wannado is improving at quite a rate and have a 1Mb service for £17.99 per month. There is download limit of 2Gb a month, but that is a fair amount of data transfer (unless you're watching porn videos every day __________________ Back to the fizzy pop league for another season |
