help on installing msn messenger plz.....

Sounds like a dippy question from the title of the thread but i have a problem installing my msn messenger onto my comp as when i go to do it i get a message up saying i cant do it as theres another installation in progress??? any idea how i would find out whats suppose to be installing or what it is as i aint a clue?

Im thinking that you have Windows Messenger running!!

Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger both look similar but are two different programs.

Start windows messenger then disable it from starting when windows starts etc and automaticaly signing on.

I never use windows messenger as it is wide open to unwanted advertising.

cheers mate but i have had a look and dont seem to have that running

when i try to install the msn messenger i get the messege........ another installation is in progress. you must complete that installation before continuing this one

Think ive found the programe thats not finished installing but and tried to finish the installation but it wont let me and nor will it let me delete it!!! grrrrrr prety !!!

think i'll have to give up and try skype or summit!!

Ok Have just had a nightmare trying to figure out what programe was stopping me installing msn but finally found it but could not stop it so had to reset my comp to factory setting so lost all my files as couldnt be bothered to save em to disc!! (lazy git) oh well thanks for anyone one who read my post and thanks for the reply kiwi.
