| Guys, you may remember my PC hard drive crashing around christmas - have it all backed up now - Well the latest is really strange, we noticed the screen had gone darker and despite all efforts nothing will bring it back up to normal brightness. and now when going on web pages all background colour and a lot of the dividing lines (graphics i guess) are missing. All colours are displaying normally, so I dont think this is a monitor problem and have gone through the normal display settings and Web display options - tried restore to an earlier date and it shows no system changes Could this be the Hard drive on its way out as per the last time the PC would not fire up and we had to do full disruptive system restore? When the PC is on standby a message comes up something like "cannot detect signal", but other than these its all working fine Any ideas? - is PC World having a sale?? Thanks barrie |

| Re: Help, PC Problem (Again) Barrie Try looking at the screen resolution sounds like you have dropped down to VGA mode. right click on the desktop and go to properties and see if you are on a low screen resolution or a low number of colours Mike |
