A question for catfish anglers...

I have never gone fishing for catfish, but just happened to catch one yesterday while bass fishing. I'm not too sure how to tell the difference between the different species of catfish. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of catfish this is.

Re: A question for catfish anglers...

Just had this reply from an american member on another site

Quote:
From the location and the picture, I'd be about 95% sure it was a channel catfish. Possibly a white catfish but channel is lots more likely.

Cool Re: A question for catfish anglers...

In my vast experience as a Cat Fish fisherman....

I'd say it was a Channel Catfish.
