Catfish venues in bedfordshire

Hi, I have recently moved to bedfordshire and am looking for catfish venues in bedfordshire. I fish a little lake in hertfordshire with some nice size cats (not that i have caught one!) but I would like somewhere a bit closer to home. If anyone knows of any please let me know.

just been on gooogle maps its about 45-50 miles from centre of bedford dont know if this is too far but we made the journey from barnsley twice this year and will be doing it again in 2012 its only a small pond 5 pegs but has a very good head of cats upto 60lb and a good few carp we had them to 19lb well worth the trip

Thanks mate its near a lake that i already fish in bayford, i was looking for something around 20 mins away tbh. is that one a day ticket? and do you have to book?

yes pal its day ticket we always book as we take the full lake up for the full weekend usally there is 3 of us but we book all 5 pegs so we can cover the whole lake . i do highly recomend this lake as it is really heavily stocked with cats and we have had good catches both time we have been,i have also been several times just to watch as i worked near it and always had good reports of the place

How much Is It to book the whole lake? I'm tempted to have a go next year sometime see if its as good as you say It Is any tips?

he charged us £250 for the whole lake and that was from fri about 3pm till sun 8pm it sounds expensive but it was well worth it as you are just about certain to have a few on the first trip i had one and lost it on my first rod whilst i was casting in my 2nd we got most of ours on single or double halibut pellets 14mm-21mm fish either with pva bags cast to features or over balled in ground bait made up of all sizes of pellet with halibut groundbait and a few tins of cheap sardines in oil all mashed in but speak to jim and he'll put you right i dare say we'll be having at least 3 trips down in 2012 as we just like the atmosphere down there the journey is a long one for us and we have many waters round here that contain cats but this one suits us
