My 6 day Ebro adventure day 2

Well after my morning cuppa and Martin cooking up my brekky roll we are quickly back on the road in the mini bus this morning so when we get to the lock up all we have to do is switch vehicles and we are off,By leaving the land rover in the lock up we can leave it loaded so this saves mucking around in both morning and evening,There is not a cloud in the sky today and Alan says its going to be a scorcher,20 Min's later and we are back on the river bank and as usual no one seems to have caught anything,we stop for a quick chat with the Dutch guys and although the cats have been showing they still have not had any cats today so we carry on back to where we was yesterday and its not long before all the rods are back out and although there is no clouds there is a nice gentle breeze rolling down the valley,After 90 Min's or so the cat rods are re baited and about 11.15 no 1 carp rod screams into life and i have my first fish of the day and new pb a 32 1/2lb common and just as Alan gets it in the net no 1 cat rod lurches over but as soon as i hit it i say to Alan its a kitten and as i get it to the bank we discover that its another common of 28lb so as i already have a bigger one in the net we quickly release the 2nd one

And after that 15 Min's of mayhem the breeze died down and the fishing went very quiet indeed and until 15.00 when i hooked and lost a carp of unknown size and blow me i did the same at 16.00 that was about as good as it got but at least i hadn't blanked and i did have a new pb so although very very quiet it was time to call it a day and head back to the Jolly Fisherman for a few beers,On the way back we stopped of again at the Dutch swim but they too had had no cats but they did have 3 commons of 40lb-40lb-41lb and they were getting very despondent,it makes you laugh really 3 carp over 40lb and they are really peeved off
And on the way back to the lock up i thought Alan was a bit quiet so i thanked him for a great days fishing and new pb,what more could a guy ask for but if these guys don't get there punters on the fish they take it very personally so i tell him not to worry mate i have had a great day and anyway after yesterdays monster (fish of a life time) they have only ever had 6 bigger fish caught that side of the dam i think thats one hell of a achievment so well done mate
day 3 to follow guys

This is turning out to be one hell of a fishing holiday, nice one John, well done on another PB . You gotta feel sorry for the dutch guys ,only 3 carp over 40lb .

Sounds like the guides are really dedicated to getting their punters the best fish possible.
