Red face couldn't break Tjs Virginity

well the day came and after a slightly later getaway due to some hefty traffic Tj and myself were off to anglers Paradise hunting cats
fishing on the Nirvana day ticket water specimin catfish lake

as you can see after a warm week the weather was deteriateing fast on us
and as the baits went out the rain started

we fished to the left of the hut you can see, baits were halibut pellets and some boilies i was told were the dogs danglies

anyway , dureing the night the rain just got worse and the fishing was poor, the only run i had was at 2am when a stupid goose got caught in the line

Tj did at least get a few knocks on the worm, but also blanked

in the morning for a bit of fun i found a waggler and attatched to the newly discovered 3lb test curve , 10.000 reel (with 17lb line) float rod

as the lake was alive with small fish, and soon had perch and a few of the really pretty golden rud

we gave it till just before 12 but we were knackered as had fished hard through the night
the rain was our killer as had obviously chilled the lake a touch and the cats werent feeding

oh well

dave

sorry its a naff report as memory card in camera corrupted and better pics dint work, plus I think thats really decided it for me that carping/catting behind alarms isnt for me, as i was so so bored( even tough we fished hard changeing /moveing baits every hour through the night trying to tempt anything)
i wont get rid of gear , but will need a damn good kick to get me there again like that

thought fishing was an activity, not inactivity

Raskusdrotti will become famous soon enough
Re: couldn't break Tjs Virginity

I've tried carping (bait alarms etc.) before when i was into course fishing and always gravitated back to lighter line styles like float and feeder. That said, I always enjoy the sleeping out part of it.

It's horses for courses I suppose.

Thanks for sharing

Unlucky there Dave, i suppose that's why they call it fishing and not catching. It really can get frustrating after awhile with out a fish in a water like that.

Unlucky guys. I guess it's all or nothing on that sort of lake. Next time (Or not!)...

Shame you didnt get a catfish Dave. I suppose the crap weather puts a downer on things too - and cant fault you for trying hard throughout the night either.

Re: couldn't break Tjs Virginity

It goes to show that even on Anglers Paradise you can still get the occasional blank.

Had a few trips like that when I was into sitting behind alarms for days & nights on end, it soon turns out to be perseverance rather than fun; but the good trips make it all worth while they tell me.

Nice report, shame the fish didn't show.
