Question anglers paridise catfish lake info

well i cant believe i have blagged this one, but the overnight stuff( well bivvy and bed ) and big rods and reels are comeing out the loft next weekend after its 2 year layoff since bluewater 2008

as i'm off with Tj to anglers paradise for an overnight assault on the catfish on the specimin lake, friday night next week

so this is a real long shot for info

Re: anglers paridise catfish lake info

Hi Dave, i stayed at AP a few summers back for a week.

I am not sure if its the specimen lake in the holiday complex you are fishing or the public one...

The two lakes that i know of at AP to have cats are 'Octopussy' and the main carp lake. There might be others but the memory is getting patchy!

The methods we used and were advised to use from the on site tackle shop was to fish 16mm halibut pellet popped up 6inches with a cork ball on a size 4 or 6 hook tied to a 45lb quicksilver braid hooklink.

It's fairly standard cat fishing tactics i think but its what we were told to use... The way i am talking you would think i caught a few cats during my time there! but we blanked with them

Although i seen a few landed on the same method.

If its the same lake i fished 'octopussy' the best pegs are the ones that are closest to the main carp lake.

Hope that helps a little bit

Cheers,

Justin
