Camping on the River Ebro??

Hi All,

Ive been trawling the internet (unsucsesfully!) for a safe place to camp on the banks of the Ebro, much like a drive and survive holiday you would get in france. I seem to find either full on guided cat fishing or shallets! were looking at driving to spain or fly driving.

Can anyone reccomend a good campsite?

just want to chill on the banks in the sun and enjoy some carp and cat fishing

thanks

James

Hi

hope this may help you. Campsite at Ginestar on the banks of the river Ebro 'Ebroasis' run by husband and wife team Dave/Judy Smith mobile number 0034 638 359331.I have been going there for several years now, the campsite has shower/toilet block/laundry facilities/ static caravan/mobile home plots, and a large section for tent pitching, a very nice shaded and full sunshine area on its own stretch of the river Ebro 20 yrds from the main tent area to fish for carp and catfish, I have caught many from this stretch of the river. the campsite is set in amongst orchards of peaches/necterine/plums(in season) and grape vines. located approx 1/4 mile from the main Village of Ginestar, and approx 10 miles from the main towns of Mora de Ebro/Mora la Nova.approx 40minute drive from Reus airport and the holiday town of Salou. For a fee Dave will do drop off and pick up at Reus airport, and his local knowledge of the area is extensive, and he will assist in fishing licences and bait and fishing hot spots etc.He also has fishing hire equipment for catfish and carp. Also the wildlife is in abundance, slight problem at first light and last light with ''midgies'' you need the jungle formula, this is just a lovely place to fish and relax.beside the tent area 2 large barbecues and tables & benches I nice focal point in the evenings. Ginestar village has a large 'ex pat' fraternity and they seem to congregate around the local bar every day so you can tap into their experiences and places to fish as they are all like minded. ''Wish I was there now''
