Re: Beachcaster Rig. In places that havent seen it before ( or had it implemented correctly) it is one of the most devastating methods going. My first trip this summer for years had 7 off the top in a few hours. Nobody else got near me ![]() Also handy for lakes where the carp are indifferent with surface baits as it can be set up in the right spot and it stays put. Also ducks wont go near it

Re: Beachcaster Rig. The "Cuttle fish" got wary of it after a time being caught so often I expect. I last fished it (Cuttle Mill) in 89 and by that time it became difficult to get a firm take. the fish would rise to the bait and I resorted to gently pushing the rod which "dropped" the bait into the mouth of the wary carp. Somestimes worked, sometimes didnt. The early rigs looked horrendous and were terrible if not dangerous to cast ! The later "sliding rigs" were better and safer. In any event when virtually all 16 anglers were using the rig the whole pool looked as if washing lines were strung across it ! It became restricted to "one beachcaster rig per angler" but after a while it lost favour. "Caned" all my home waters with it at the time but the looks and comments I got were many to say the least even open hostility in one case by a baliff ! Ripple.

Re: Beachcaster Rig. Yeah on the waters I have used it on nobody has a clue, think its a method that has largely died off. Sliding set up is prob one of the safest rigs around too. Cant wait for the sun to come out again!
