| Hair length Been making my own hair rigs and they look just like something you'd get in the shops. However, When you are presenting bait should it be tucked up tight to the curve of the hook. Some of my hair lengths are quite long and today i was getting a lot of bites but hooked nothing, i wondered if its because the bait is too far from the hook... ![]() __________________ I snagged.., 5lb tench, 25.3lb common, 16.4lb mirror , 2.2lb roach, 4 lb chub and 10lb Ghost. |

| Re: Hair length i alway have my baits about 3mm to 5mm from the bend of the hook. but i have seen people catch with a 20mm gap between hook and bait. __________________ If it was easy, it would be called catching. Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot..... |

| Re: Hair length i was using all sorts. tried corn with a fake pop up. robin red carp pellets with a snow man white popup dipped in almond.., large and very pungent garlic and cheese pelets and pepperami. The pepperami was constantly being knocked and picked up twice but never enough to grab the hook aswell. very odd day.. by the way, all these things have worked for me in the past when fishing the bottom... ![]() __________________ I snagged.., 5lb tench, 25.3lb common, 16.4lb mirror , 2.2lb roach, 4 lb chub and 10lb Ghost. |

If you can give a little more info as to how you tie your rigs and what rigs you use it may help. |
